About Us
Knowmad Design is a creative fabrications company serving both our local Northern Colorado community and clients nationwide. Our founder is a self-proclaimed tinkerer and has been designing and building since he could walk. A Colorado native, he was fortunate to grow up in the Rocky Mountains and has been a lifelong outdoorsman. In high school, his eyes were opened to welding and woodworking and from the first day of those classes, he’s been engrossed in honing his skills, building everything from robots to rock crawlers. After his Construction Management degree and working in the industry for some time, he noticed an opportunity to provide a one-stop shop for architectural elements, interior design treatments, and unique scopes that are usually inefficiently pieced together. Knowmad Design was born to fill this void and offer a single point of contact for your unique projects whether commercial, residential, or personal. Bring us your ideas and we’ll handle the rest!
What is a Knowmad?
Our name holds multiple meanings with the most obvious being a play on nomad which we consider ourselves in the pursuit of adventure and experiences, but it doesn’t end there. At the core of it, we were inspired by John Moravec’s take on the new age of workers in his book Knowmad Society – “Knowmads are nomadic knowledge workers: Creative, imaginative, and innovative people who can work with almost anybody, anytime, and anywhere. The jobs associated with 21st century knowledge and innovation workers have become much less specific concerning task and place, but require more value-generative applications of what they know.” Here at Knowmad Design, we pride ourselves in applying our entire suite of skills to your project, no matter the medium.
